SEO Can be Easy
When it comes to SEO, some people get
anxious, while others get excited.
SEO is essentially a search engine looking for "hashtags" - keywords on your website. The better keywords you have, the higher you’ll rank on Google. That's pretty simple, right?
But how do you find the best keywords to ensure a high rank?
Think about it, every Google search links you to a blog post. Whether it's a recipe, a review, a fun fact, or the trendiest dog breed, am I right?
Before we dive in, take a moment to think about your SEO goals. Consider who you want to attract and what actions you want them to take. Are you aiming for more sales or seeking leads and inquiries?
We'll talk more about how to set the right goals for your SEO the next time. >
Let's start from scratch
Every word, every heading, and every paragraph on your website counts for the search engine. It's important that you sneakily spread those smart keywords throughout your texts. They can be in your headings, buttons, on your product page, in your URL (the address that pops up in your browser's search bar), and in the names of your images and videos.
Speaking of images, make sure they're compressed to ensure your site loads quickly. Long loading times are bad for SEO. And who has the patience today to wait so long for a page to load when searching for something? Yeah, I'm still learning how to be patient too. There are many tutorials on how to compress your photos, whether you're on Mac or Windows. You don't need a fancy program like Adobe; it's pretty easy.
For website photos, try to keep them
small, around 100KB
or less, so they load quickly. Use common
formats like JPEG or PNG
Make sure that all of your buttons work, your links are correct, and every page is connected to the other for easy access throughout the website.
Lastly, check if your website is connected to the Google Search Console. Otherwise, it'll be hard for those Google robots to crawl into your site and recommend it to users searching for information that might be on your site.
free SEO tools
If you think you're all set and still want to do a complete site audit, there are free SEO audit tools online.
My favourite is Semrush.com; it's easy and quick. They will also give you hints on how to fix any problems on your site.
Okay, these are the basics of SEO that you can do yourself.
Don't forget - SEO is a living thing. Yeah, right?
Check your analytics regularly, watch those high-ranking keywords, and adjust the rest to ensure your entire site is spiking with organic traffic.
One month you could be ranking on one thing, and the next, the same keyword could be completely uninteresting.
It's like trends on Instagram, changing quickly, and you want to keep up with them to ensure your site is accessible and up-to-date to attract new clients.
GOOD LUCK MY FRIEND
